Riders Helping Riders - How Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys Give Back

Every year, Russ Brown has been a steadfast supporter of The One Motorcycle Show, and this year is no different. Thanks to their generous sponsorship, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be giving away a free bike courtesy of Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys®, plus a whole lot more!

Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® have been protecting your rights, keeping riders safe on the road with free breakdown assistance and helping injured motorcyclists across the nation since 1975. Their mission is simple: to help ensure motorcyclists receive high caliber legal assistance. Profit is not the main focus, which is why initial consultations are always free and cases are taken on contingency (i.e. no payments are collected until the case is settled). This unique approach of putting the rider’s needs first is standard practice because all attorneys in the Russ Brown nationwide network are members of the same community they serve. This commitment to prioritizing individual visions of ideal bikes makes them a great partner of The One Motorcycle Show.

It doesn’t stop at legal advice and representation for riders involved in motorcycle accidents. Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® are active participants in the motorcycle community at large, supporting and attending events all across the country. In fact, Russ Brown sponsors over 850 motorcycle events every year. On top of that, they also donate items for door prizes, hand out free swag at attended events, support a whole slew of riders and creatives within the community, and even give away a brand new motorcycle every year during their annual bike giveaway.

Perhaps most impressive in the Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® effort to show their commitment to the motorcycle community is their Riders Helping Riders® program - a unique volunteer organization of roughly 2 million motorcyclists. The sole purpose of Riders Helping Riders® is to keep motorcyclists across the country safe and protected on the road.

Attorney Russ Brown started Riders Helping Riders® over 30 years ago because he believed that no rider should ever feel alone or stranded without help.  This nationwide volunteer network is designed to help a fellow rider in an emergency at no charge.

Here’s how it works:

  • Membership is 100% free. Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys cover all the costs to manage the network, keep a secure database, and staff a 24/7 phone hotline manned by real living and breathing American humans.

  • The only requirement for membership is that you volunteer to help another member in need of assistance, and only if you are called and available to do so (there is no obligation). Your contact info is kept on file for this sole purpose, and is never sold or used for spam.

  • If you experience a breakdown or mechanical problems while on the road, call 1-800-4-BIKERS, and Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys will search their volunteer network and send someone nearby out to help.

  • If you so choose, your membership card can double as an emergency ID card, which can speak for you if you are incapacitated in a crash. Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys can supply emergency personnel with your emergency contact person and any medical problems.

Signing up is easy! Just swing by the Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys booth any time during The One Motorcycle Show and be ready to high five one of their friendly representatives.

Some examples of the type of help Riders Helping Riders® members can expect to receive from a fellow motorcyclist, if needed:

  • Fuel top off if you find yourself stranded with an empty tank

  • Tools to help with minor roadside repairs

  • Jump start for a dead battery

  • Minor replacement parts to help get you back on the road

  • Safe transportation for you and your motorcycle to a nearby shop or dealership

  • Motorcycle storage if your trip is interrupted

  • Water and snacks for weary travelers who are stranded

  • Legal consultation at no charge if you are involved in a motorcycle accident

It’s no secret that motorcyclists are more vulnerable when a breakdown or accident occurs. The Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® network of volunteers that make up the Riders Helping Riders® program is a truly invaluable resource for anyone out on the road – all thanks to the passion and generosity of Attorney Russ Brown and his legacy.

Each calendar year, Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® gather all the names of every Riders Helping Riders® member and draw a winner for their annual bike giveaway as a way to say “thank you” for volunteering. This year’s annual giveaway bike is a 2024 Harley-Davidson Lowrider ST. You can check the giveaway bike out in person at the Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® booth throughout the entirety of The One Motorcycle Show. Although your membership to Riders Helping Riders® never expires, you can re-up your membership every year for a chance to win the annual bike giveaway simply by signing up at the booth or online.

The One Motorcycle Show Bike Giveaway

Does it get any better? Believe it or not, it does. Signing up for the Riders Helping Riders® network during The One Motorcycle Show offers a unique opportunity to enter a SECOND! motorcycle giveaway, which happens on stage during The One Motorcycle Show. We pull out a big bingo-style contraption with all the names in it and bring someone up on stage to get blindfolded and mix up the entries. Then, live on stage, we call them up to bring them the good news. The reactions over the years have been nothing short of legendary. Come to the show and see for yourself! This year we’re giving away a BMW G300R. If volunteering to help out a fellow rider wasn’t enough motivation to swing by the Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® booth, hopefully doubling your chances to win one of two free motorcycles will be!

The Partnership

The history of the partnership between The One Motorcycle Show and Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys® runs deep. Dave Young, Thor, and the team go way back. They’re trailblazers in the motorcycle community, always taking the time to connect with and nurture the riding community. Both partners genuinely care about making sure everyone understands what they need to know to get the right help when they need it and enjoy the magic of the open road.

“Their support means the world to us, and every year, we look forward to joining forces with them to make people smile and have a great time.” - Thor Drake
